More than just a class, journalism was my way to get out into the world and see and do things I would never otherwise have dreamed of doing. Walking through those doors changed my life for the better. I have lost all trace of shyness and stuttering, gained confidence through conducting interviews and competing in JACC (Journalism Association of Community Colleges) competitions, winning second place in Team Feature my first year at that conference.
Since starting as a reporter, I have made friends and life-long companions as we learned to help each other out when needed. For me, the newsroom has become my second home; no, my second family.
