A student walking into a VC women's restroom on Monday evening, April 18, was robbed at gunpoint by the two men. Lt. Richard De La O, acting campus police chief, said the men went into the bathroom and demanded the woman's purse, which contained an undisclosed amount of money.
The experience never gets old. Students anxiously await the mail each day, hoping to beat their parents to the mailbox. Inside sits an envelope from a college admissions office. Opening the envelope, the student sees the first word, "Congratulations." Having the experience of being accepted is exciting, but also daunting.
Chevelle continues the musical journey through their newest album, "This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)," with the slow, heavy and crunchy rock that has come to be their fascination. They're still the fascination of others as well, still in the top ten after 14 weeks on the Billboard charts.

We at the VC Press have come a long way since the first day each of us walked into Trailer 4. Some of us had different agendas. All of us had the option to be a reporter, copyeditor, photographer, graphic designer or cartoonist. We had to learn the basics of being members of a newspaper staff.
The VC Press blends so much of what I love to do. Monday begins with a blank slate and by Friday pages are sent to the printer full of news and images. In between, the week flies by as I teach basic journalism to my students, who are thoughtful, bright and, at times, contrary.
